Hazel M Johnson, mother of the American environmental justice movement died Jan 12 2011. The work of this internationally renown activist has been crucial in bringing worldwide attention to the problems of racism, global toxics and north-south segregation right in the middle of the cities of the global north. It will continue to be inspiring for everyone on earth ready to detoxify our very own minds.

Cheryl Johnson, head of trhe NGO People for Community Recovery, dreams of a Hazel Johnson School for Environmental Justice and Education. Out of our conversations, her ideas about purpose, aim, subject areas, potential students, location and sustainable building and my thoughts on environmentally sound and community friendly design emerged a first draft outline. We hope it will mature and bear fruit.

Wir hoffen, dass er reift und Früchte trägt.
